For her Ammo Series, Claudia Maysen studied the AR-15 ammunition used in mass shootings, its use as a symbol of freedom, how common it is to find it in our communities, and the ironic resemblance that these bullets have with flowers once they explode. As a base for these artworks, she drew views of a .223 Rem with colored pencils and made prints that later collaged into canvas, cold pressed paper and wood to create paintings, sculptures and installations.
